Last Wednesday, Réseau FADOQ participated in Québec’s first Retirement Summit, with the theme of “Retirement in 2040: Acting now for tomorrow’s retirees.” This summit meeting was an opportunity to take stock and participate in a collective reflection on retirement in the future.
Danis Prud’homme, our Executive Director, was a speaker at the conference and spoke about public pensions and their indexation.
The Observatoire de la retraite and its partners, including Réseau FADOQ, believe that a partners’ council on retirement is needed in Quebec.
It would be a public institution to promote social dialogue on retirement with all stakeholders (workers, employers, retirees).
Too often, retired people are not included in this dialogue. For example, they are not part of negotiations on pension plan restructuring, yet they suffer the full consequences.
The Observatoire de la retraite brings together partners from different backgrounds who are concerned with situating the debate on retirement in a broad perspective, encompassing the social and economic policies that shape Québec.
