An intergenerational ensemble offering adults the opportunity to learn (or relearn) how to play an instrument in a friendly, high-energy environment.
Harmonie nouveaux horizons de Québec is a wind and percussion ensemble that offers budding musicians age 18 and over the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument in a friendly, high-energy environment. The ensemble is for people with no musical experience who are learning a wind, string, or percussion instrument for the first time and for those who played music as a child and want to pick it up again after a long hiatus. Musicians learn the basic techniques of playing an instrument (e.g., posture, finger placement, breathing techniques), music theory, and how to read music. By the end of the session, you will be able to play one or two beginner pieces in an instrumental ensemble. Members will receive quality instruction in a relaxed, collaborative environment. Our team of instructors is highly trained and committed to supporting students through the learning process.
