FADOQ is proud to become a national partner in the health prevention strategy through the creation of community outreach agents dedicated to promoting active aging.
“For decades, we have been experts in active aging. Through the implementation of this initiative, we aim to contribute to the successful rollout of the National health prevention strategy. We would like to thank the Ministry of Education and its Directorate of Sport, Recreation, Physical Activity and Outdoor Activities for their support of this initiative. We are excited to launch this new project within our organization,” said Yves Bouchard, President of FADOQ.

Community outreach agents promoting active aging will be deployed across Québec’s regions to reach people aged 50 and over in the places they frequent. They will help introduce active leisure opportunities and encourage many of our members to take part in them.
They will also promote physical activity and active recreation, while raising awareness among thousands of people about healthy lifestyle habits.
This network of outreach agents will be developed in collaboration with our 16 regional associations, which will contribute their local expertise to the implementation of the project.
A new goal
Thanks to the commitment of our thousands of volunteers, our 680 clubs serving nearly 550 municipalities, and our 16 regional associations, we already offer a wide range of activities to our members.
“Across the province, we help nearly 70,000 people stay active every week. This is an achievement we are very proud of. But we want to go even further. Our goal is to reach 100,000 active participants every week,” said Mr. Bouchard.
In addition to helping maintain good health, active leisure activities enable people to meet others, build relationships, share passions, and remain engaged in their communities.
They are a powerful safeguard against social isolation, one of the greatest challenges many people face today.
We share a fundamental conviction: investing in prevention is investing in a better quality of life for our entire society. We believe that health prevention must become a collective societal commitment.
