For the very first time, FADOQ is joining forces with other seniors’ advocacy organizations and the Conférence des Tables régionales de concertation des aînés to mark the International Day of Older Persons, which takes place on October 1.
Together, we wish to share a common message. The chosen theme is: Seniors, Pillars of Our Communities. It reflects both the grounding presence of older adults—in our history, culture, and traditions—and their essential role in community life.
You can learn more about all the events organized across the province for the International Day of Older Persons through an interactive map. By using the search tool, simply enter your postal code or select your administrative region to see a list of activities available.
A video (in French only) has also been released to highlight the contribution of older adults to the vitality of our communities.
The theme and visuals were developed through a collaboration between FADOQ, the Conférence des Tables régionales de concertation des aînés, and five other national organizations working with seniors: l’AREQ, Proche Aidance Québec, l’Association québécoise des retraité(e)s des secteurs public et parapublic (AQRP), l’Association québécoise de défense des droits des personnes retraitées et préretraitées (AQDR) and Intergénérations Québec.
