FADOQ

What a wonderful surprise for André Gaignard and his loved ones! Thanks to ticket D-98220, their group of eight participants won $295,320 in FADOQ’s provincial 50/50 Draw on September 16.

Mr. Gaignard, a member of FADOQ – Région Richelieu-Yamaska, was the one who suggested that his family and friends purchase tickets for the fourth edition of the provincial draw. Although some were a little skeptical, he had a feeling that this time might be the one, after having participated in previous draws.

The group, made up of seven members of the Gaignard family and a neighbour, ultimately purchased $400 worth of tickets, with each person contributing their share.

“We’ve been through some difficult times lately, and now it feels as though the universe is telling us that it’s our turn to be rewarded,” the 79-year-old told us.

When asked whether he would have preferred to win the nearly $300,000 prize on his own, his answer was unequivocal.

“I know it might seem more logical to want to win on your own, but what makes me happy is being able to share it. I get much more joy from seeing everyone benefit from the prize than from keeping it all to myself.”

After hearing the good news, the eight participants gathered for dinner to celebrate and divide the winnings. Their respective shares will simply give each of them a little breathing room and allow them to invest in projects already underway.

Taking a chance while supporting FADOQ

For Mr. Gaignard, participating in the 50/50 Draw offers the best of both worlds: a chance to win while also contributing to FADOQ’s mission.

As a member, he particularly appreciates the benefits and opportunities to save. In the coming years, he would also like to explore the activities offered by FADOQ as a way to meet new people and stay active.

And now that he has held the winning ticket himself, he has a message for anyone who might be hesitant to take part in future FADOQ draws:

“You have to participate to have a chance to win! The more tickets you buy, the better your chances. We took our chance, and this time, the stars aligned!”

The fourth provincial draw generated a total jackpot of $590,640, half of which will help support the activities, programs and services offered to all FADOQ members. FADOQ would like to thank everyone who participated and who helps advance its mission.
