What is verbal bullying?
Words or remarks that are generally deliberate and repetitive and have the effect of hurting, humiliating, or controlling another person. They may be delivered in a subtle way or in a very direct way.
This may include insults, shouting, accusations, blame, threats, ridicule, disparaging or discriminatory remarks, sexist jokes or comments, and remarks or insults of a sexual nature.
Bullying of the elderly is a real problem. People perceived as different (e.g., the 10% of seniors who are homosexual or transgender) are often the prime targets.
