Quebec and FADOQ were represented by six athletes at the 2025 National Senior Games, held from July 24 to August 4 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Of these six athletes, five – including one duo – returned home with a medal. These four podium finishes boosted Canada’s overall success, as its 70 athletes brought home 42 medals.
It should be noted that at the National Senior Games, athletes placing between fourth and eighth receive a ribbon in recognition of their performance. In addition to the medals, Quebec athletes earned four ribbons in the road race.
The Quebec medalists are: Yvan Béliveau and Bernard Béland (silver, men’s doubles badminton), Carl St-Jacques (silver, road race), Mario Landreville (silver, road race), and Jean-Pierre de Beaumont (bronze, men’s doubles pickleball).
During the opening ceremony, Yvan Béliveau and Bernard Béland had the honor of carrying the sign and the flag, respectively, for the Canadian delegation.
As the one-mile race was open to all, two spouses of Quebec participants also took part.
